Why mix a facial oil into a cream?

Creams and oils aren't the same thing.

A facial cream is an emulsion containing both water-based and oil-based ingredients. Facial oils are concentrated lipid-based products.

When you mix a few drops of facial oil into your cream at the time of application, you're increasing the oil portion of what you're applying without needing to replace your moisturizer altogether.
