DESCRIPTION: Also known as Virginian cedarwood or red cedar, the essential oil is steam distilled from the wood of the slow-growing coniferous evergreen native to North America. It produces a relaxing smokey wood scent with the main components of cedrol and thujopsene. Cedrol is known as a sleep aid and sedative. First nations people would boil the twigs together to make a tea to treat joint pain and inflammation.
