Candelilla Wax

Candelilla wax is a vegetable wax derived from the leaves of the candelilla shrub, which is native to northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. It has been used for centuries in a variety of applications, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and candles.
In skin care products, candelilla wax is known for its moisturizing and protective properties. It creates a barrier on the skin, helping to lock in moisture and prevent dehydration. This makes it an ideal ingredient in moisturizers, lip balms, and other emollient products.
Candelilla wax is also a natural humectant, meaning it helps to attract and retain moisture in the skin. This can help to plump up dry, dehydrated skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Another benefit of candelilla wax is its anti-inflammatory properties. It contains compounds that can help to reduce inflammation and soothe irritated skin. This makes it a great ingredient for sensitive skin types or for those with conditions like eczema or rosacea.
Finally, candelilla wax is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores or cause acne breakouts. This makes it a great ingredient for acne-prone skin, as it can help to moisturize without causing further breakouts.
Overall, candelilla wax is a versatile and beneficial ingredient in skin care products. Its moisturizing, protective, and anti-inflammatory properties make it an ideal choice for a wide range of skin types and concerns.
BOTANICAL NAME: Euphorbia (after Euphorbus, physician to Juba, king of Mauritania) cerifera

DESCRIPTION: The Candelilla (Euphorbia cerifera) is a shrub native to Mexico and the southwestern United States. It’s small, a yellow-brown colour, and aromatic. Traditionally, candelilla wax was used to make candles beginning in the 20th century. With the coming of World War I, demand increased as this wax was used for waterproofing equipment. Shea Butter

Shea butter is a popular ingredient in skin care products due to its nourishing and moisturizing properties. Derived from the nuts of the shea tree, shea butter is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, making it an excellent choice for dry or damaged skin.
But did you know that shea butter can also provide natural sun protection? While shea butter alone is not enough to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, it can be used as a complementary ingredient in sunscreens or as a post-sun treatment to soothe and repair sun-damaged skin.
Shea butter contains a high concentration of vitamin E, which has been shown to have some UV-protective effects. Additionally, the fatty acids in shea butter can help to create a barrier on your skin, which can help to prevent moisture loss and protect your skin from environmental stressors, including sun damage.
When used in combination with other natural ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, shea butter can help to enhance the sun protection provided by a sunscreen. And because shea butter is a natural ingredient, it is gentle on your skin and less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions.
After sun exposure, shea butter can also help to soothe and repair sun-damaged skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties can reduce redness and inflammation, while its moisturizing effects can help to prevent peeling and promote faster healing.
Overall, shea butter is an excellent ingredient to include in your skin care routine, especially if you are looking for natural sun protection or after-sun care. Look for products that contain shea butter and other natural ingredients for the best results.

Castor Seed Oil

Castor seed oil, also known as Ricinus communis seed oil, is a vegetable oil derived from the seeds of the castor plant. It has been used for centuries for its numerous health and beauty benefits, including its powerful skin care properties.
One of the key benefits of castor seed oil is its ability to moisturize the skin. The oil is rich in fatty acids, particularly ricinoleic acid, which is a humectant that helps to retain moisture in the skin. This makes it an excellent choice for individuals with dry, flaky or irritated skin. It can also help to improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin, leaving it soft and supple.
Castor seed oil also has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce redness and inflammation in the skin. This makes it a great option for individuals with acne-prone or sensitive skin. Additionally, the oil contains antioxidants that can help to protect the skin from free radical damage caused by UV rays and environmental pollutants.
Another benefit of castor seed oil is its ability to promote the growth of healthy skin tissue. It contains a unique compound called ricinoleic acid that has been shown to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. These proteins are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness, which can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Castor seed oil is also an excellent natural remedy for a variety of skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties can help to soothe and heal irritated skin, while its antimicrobial properties can help to fight off bacteria and fungi that can exacerbate these conditions.
In conclusion, castor seed oil is a powerful and versatile ingredient that can provide a range of skin care benefits. Its moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-microbial properties make it an excellent choice for individuals looking to improve the health and appearance of their skin.

It's a good product that smells very good. The only thing is that the oil is hard to wash (washing hands after applying it for example) and it can be hard on the back of the shirt's collar with long hair.
